About this deal
The story takes place in a poor developing country in an unnamed South American country. Raphael Fernandez lives in a slum and his only income comes from the trash where he might find something valuable (mostly not) or just pile the plastic and get paid (not a lot). He is not the only one, hundreds, thousands of other people live this way in his country (and in others). The novel is set in the Philippines, even though it's an 'un-named developing-world city'. Why did they move it to Brazil?
Mulligan's writing is crystal clear: each voice is unique, telling the story as it happens from a different of point of view, which gives credibility and depth and sets an incredible pace. a b c "Guardian children's fiction prize won by anarchic school story". One day, in the heap of a garbage from a rich district of Green Hills, they find a bag that contains a wallet, a key, a map. In the wallet is P1,100, a picture of a man whose name is Jose Angelico who is a houseboy of an influential politician. The rest of the story revolves around the contents of that bag and how they change the lives of the 3 scavenging boys. Gossip Girl, Not a (31 August 2015). This book was totally different from anything else I have read so far this year. It hit on a variety of topics which made me think and was generally a nice read.
The story’s antagonist. Senator Zapanta is a corrupt, “fat” politician who lives in a luxurious gated compound while the citizens of his country live in squalor. Zapanta is portrayed as the story’s most despicable thief…The chase leads them throughout the city, exposing the great disparity between the "haves" and the "have nots," and the huge injustice this represents. They face moral dilemmas throughout and, ultimately, make good decisions. Their intelligence and characters make the condition in which they live seem even more unfair Kristin Anderson, School Library Journal Bu üç çocuk, yani başkahramanlarımız da kitabın gerçekçiliğinden nasibini alıyor.

A 33-year-old man who is killed by the police during an interrogation just before the start of the story. Although José Angelico dies before the novel’s action, he is central to the plot. José Angelico… Sure, but I’m not sure what the connection between South London and the books I’ve written might be – I haven’t given it much thought. I had a safe and happy childhood half an hour from central London. I went to a boys’ grammar school, and English was the one subject that I really enjoyed. I met teachers who cared passionately about literature, and instilled some kind of work-ethic. But I think my books have emerged from much later experiences – the wildness of teaching overseas, and – in the case of ‘Trash’ – the enormity of meeting street kids. This is a powerful and gripping story that takes us into some painful places, but makes us believe that transformation is possible - that the vulnerable and weak can sometimes triumph against a whole system. I would very highly recommend it Armadillo Magazine Kitap konuya da derinlemesine dalıyor.
