About this deal
Not everyone is looking to satisfy the audiophile in them. Some buy gadgets just for the look they have to offer. The Sennheiser HD599 is absolutely perfect for getting that flex of owning a fancy and expensive-looking headphone. Looks and design I have 599 since the beginning of the year and your description on this 599 is very well explained to anyone who is interested in buying. Congratulations Lieven!

What motherboard do you have? It may just be Sennheiser's sound signature. I find the vocals to be a bit too veiled, and the overall sound too smooth, but this is of course personal opinion and most people love their 599 If you look at the specifications of this amazing headphone, you will be amazed at what the company has to offer. It comes with a frequency range of 12 to 38,500 Hz, which is truly spectacular. You can vary the sound quality to ample highs and lows for any type of music you feel charmed with. The sound quality of this headphone is quite smooth and engaging. You will feel every note reaching you and delivering the melody in an outstandingly pure form. The sound delivered has a natural feel to it and provides a unique warmth to the listener. This is the perfect headphone for an audiophile and one wanting to step onto the path of becoming one. You make it clear that it’s a really good headphone for movies (true), and are your top brothers (600, 650 ..) good for movies too, or just music?

Listened on: ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 with Peace APO tuned to Harman Target, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with Wavelet with AutoEQ and limiter on, wired with apple dongleis a good price, I would go for them if I were you. The 599 definitely has a deeper and more engaging bass than the 598CS, which was pretty surprising to me. I had the same reaction as you when I got the original 598, very flat and unengaging (even though I wouldn't say they are "flat" if the bass is flat out non-existent, I would say the 598 had a reverse v shape with weak bass and veiled highs). I've been using them on and off with the 598CS and man the 599 is far superior in every single aspect. Even the bass is much better defined on the 599, it goes deeper and is also faster and more precise with no "boom" whatsoever, that's pretty odd for open headphones compared to closed ones! They're also clearer despite this, I mean it, the sound is crystal clear and the soundstage is immense compared to closed cans. You know that's not true, i have 35ohm headphones ( HE4XX ) and they need as much power as HD600 if not more. For example im using FiiO K5 which is 1.5W @ 32ohm but i still can listen on high gain and pretty much maxed out, seems like they need like 3-4W for full potential ( not only for volume, but sound quality too ). Sensitivity is as important as Ohms.

The stylish design and the exemplary comfort that comes with these headphones are truly unbeatable. You won’t regret the money you spend and enjoy the fulfilling joy of music for a very long time. Also what do you dislike about them? For me the 598 was quite decent and had that nice sound profile where everything is almost perfect and well balanced. Without too much emphasis/deemphasizing the mid bass, the frequencies of the sound profile are excellent.
Fit and Comfort: Very comfortable. Most importantly, it is lightweight and has good padding on the headband. I can wear these for hours without top of the head pain - not something I can say with the HD 600. The earpads make an annoying scratchy noise with my plastic glasses frame - so I take my glasses off when wearing them. Would have been an immediate return in the past for this - fortunately I had eye surgery and wear glasses just to look smart. Very good for long gaming sessions. So if i like natural sound ( specially for vocal and bass with zero enphasize ), this is not for me, right ?
