About this deal
One of the biggest improvements you can make to your oral health routine is the time you brush for. The iO Series 6 is very similar to the iO Series 9 launched in 2020, and the handle is nearly identical (Image credit: Future) Why you can trust TechRadar We spend hours testing every product or service we review, so you can be sure you’re buying the best. The iO Series 6 has Oral-B's latest motor, which is extremely quiet and allows the brush to glide smoothly across your teeth. The handle has a smooth finish and, although not the lightest around, is evenly weighted and comfortable in the hand.
The additional cleaning mode (sensitive) is a slower, less powerful mode that is a little more gentle on the teeth and gums, whilst still offering a thorough clean. You do to get a sensitive and whitening cleaning mode on the 1500, that you don’t on the Pro 1000. Not essential, but they are useful.
The X Pro Elite is an excellent brush by itself (it really is astonishingly quiet). But, in our opinion, it's best when used without its 'smart' functionality.
As an oscillating and rotating brush, it does still feel different in use to a sonic toothbrush, it doesn’t feel as light and gentle as they often do. The iO5 is water resistant so can be rinsed under a tap The brush head is bigger than what you might be used to The iO5 comes in a box that is perhaps a little bigger than it needs to be. But, it’s not terribly oversized. It’s easily recycled and in many instances, you are not getting lots of unnecessary extras included. Whilst both models come with a travel case, it is the premium case supplied with the 8000 that allows the brush handle to be recharged inside the case, providing the proprietary power adapter is connected. This is not a feature available with the Pro 6000.
