About this deal

I have a light blue Marcato Wellness, bought about 17 years ago. The rollers broke down two years ago and I could not repair them – but at that time they had been processing probably above 100 kg of pasta dough. Smooth and easy to manipulate pasta sheets are useful for a whole range of dishes and give you complete control.

Marcato offers 10 years of warranty, whereas Imperia models only come with a 1 year warranty. This is a significant difference between the two manufacturers and is alone one of the main reasons that I personally use a Marcato. Since a pasta maker is essentially a machine with gears and other mechanisms, they can break! So it is important to look at the warranty. For a heavier sauce like bolognese, Clark suggests semolina, a coarser flour made from a high-protein wheat variety called durum. Semolina-based pasta "tends to hold its shape, and has a heartier, rougher texture that helps sauces cling better to the noodles," Clark says. We recommend the electric option if you make pasta often or for a very large crowd, as that will save you time; however, there’s something very charming and traditional about a smaller, more manual option. If you make pasta rarely or for a smaller number of people, select a manual option to retain that sense of history.

The new machine has “quite a bit of plastic parts incorporated into the machine that are not present on mine.” Bring a pan of water to a rolling boil and add the pasta. Adding salt isn't done in Italy - the taste of home-made pasta is so delicious you really don't need it.

From pasta rollers to pasta makers, the number of professional tools that can help you make dishes the Italian masters would be envious of is constantly expanding, meaning quality pasta is made effortless. Customers are saying: Is stylish, makes rolling pasta easy and comes with a recipe book to make kneading and preparing the dough all the more straightforward before you actually roll and cut it. Imperia pasta machine attachments provide easy, aesthetic ways to make the pasta of your dreams - both by hand and electrically. A manual option does take a little bit of elbow grease, but can be an immensely satisfying ritual that you can enjoy prior to a homemade Italian feast. This popular manual model is from an Italian company that's been crafting pasta machines for generations. It’s made from sleek, chrome-plated steel and is impressively well-built, with a clamp that held it firmly to the table with no wobbling through the full round of testing. The crank handle is removable for easy storage, but it doesn't fall out while you're using it, a problem a lot of other hand-cranked machines have. One thing can be said for sure: if we are looking at the design of the pasta rollers, the Marcato Atlas 150 Wellness would definitely be the winner of the two. Featuring a classic and high-class design, you get the feeling you are looking at a high quality product. From the beautiful beveled logo to the nine different colors that the Marcato is available in: it just looks and definitely feels right. Don't waste money buying in your pasta, utilise the power of commercial pasta machines to help you create fresh pasta that will seriously set you apart from the competition.
