As a result, Bell decided to take the first couple of letters from the each of the two words of the brand name and turn them into the more catchy sounding ' Be-Ro'. In the first book, Shocolate Chip Cookie Murder, life was being kind and great to Hannah except for her mother’s attempts to find a man for her to marry. Hannah finds herself involved in yet another murder. This one leaves the sheriff dead, a deputy accused, and a killer on the loose. To make matters worse, the accused deputy is her brother-in-law Bill, who was running against the sheriff in the upcoming election.
Joanne Fluke is the author of the Hannah Swensen Mystery Series, with Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder and Strawberry Short Cake Murder as the first two books. The central character in these mystery series is a girl named Hannah Swensen, who owns Cookie Jar, a bakeshop, in Lake Eden, Minnesota. As a result, a free recipe book was produced and handed out at the exhibitions as well as door to door. The Be-Ro cookbook contained recipes to feed hungry families on a very low budget.However, she ended acting as maid to her two step-sisters who were introduced to London society with great aplomb.
