About this deal
On the front are three LEDs: two smaller lights at the sides with a larger central lamp that can be turned on and off from the handset. At first glance, we see an 8kg well-moulded boat with a stainless steel bolt joining the hull and the upper section. There is a silicone gasket in between and this provides a watertight seal between the two sections. Always research the preferences of the species you are targeting and local conditions before selecting your bait.
The Procat MKIII also comes with navigation lights, a folding carry handle, and a battery meter built into it. Generally speaking, you should only use a bait boat where you can see it. That means not driving it to areas beyond your view, such as behind islands or into inaccessible bays. If you can’t see the boat, you won’t know if it’s gotten caught, causing damage, or in someone else’s way.
The first thing to surprise me about this boat was its lighter weight for the size. It is merely 5.7 kg in weight and at 59 cm length, this is easily one of the lightest bait boats out there. It does make it easy to carry and there’s even a moulded handle to help further. On the design side of things, the Microcat MKIII sports a sleek design, with an internal antenna that prevents the boat from snagging on a tree and a low hull height that makes placing bait underneath low-hanging trees a breeze. But, admittedly, this isn’t the most stable bait boat to sail on choppy waters, which can be attributed to its low hull height.
This bait boat has a searchlight upfront, which, admittedly, could be brighter. There are also a trio of LED lights on its right-hand side, which indicate the current battery level of the boat. Yes, you can really fish with an RC boat, as they are designed to help you place your bait and line in hard-to-reach areas. Many RC boats have features like bait droppers or line release mechanisms, enabling you to deploy your bait in specific spots. However, the actual process of hooking and reeling in the fish will still require a traditional fishing rod and reel. This method allows for greater accuracy and control when casting, enabling the angler to reach specific targets more effectively. Bait casting reels are often preferred by experienced anglers pursuing larger species or fishing in areas with heavy cover.Radio interference can be an issue when carp fishing in venues where other anglers are using radios or bait boats. However, you won’t face this issue, thanks to Atom’s revamped 5.8 GHz radio gear. Again, this isn’t so much a downside as a warning. Be prepared for a few funny looks from fellow fishermen, but the best catch of the lot! Fishing Bait Boat Limitations
