About this deal
But Cunk’s observations range from the absurd (“Was the invention of writing a significant development or more of a flash in the pan like rap metal?”) to the surprisingly insightful (is Jesus “the first celebrity victim of cancel culture?”). Her recollection of facts is also questionable — she refers to Christopher Columbus as Christopher Columbo, an “Italian sailor and detective.” In interviews, her questions often leave the real-life academics bewildered or reeling. The cunk style in this encyclopedia isnt even consistent - somethings extremely detailed and somewhat accurate, other things just wildly absurd spellings and ignorance about fundamental aspects. Its just not consistently written as much as her tv shows.

Yet, in all the fakeness, you can find a gem of satire on all topics. Philomena Cunk is one of the greatest thinkers of the 21st century, and in Cunk on Everything she turns her attention to our biggest issue: why are there so many books?
BRILLIANT, as the whole book is done in character. The personality of Philomena Cunk shines through from the very first word to the last. Diane’s accent and voice rings in your head as you read the words. This is satire at it’s best. The book is formatted as an A to Z of things important to Philomena. She has a lovely bending of the truth and develops conspiracies of things that could be true. Philomena also has great word play, not just misspellings but using the wrong words in an innocent manner. Her character is dim, but nice. She presents an alternative view on history and life.a b Aitkenhead, Decca (28 October 2017). "Diane Morgan: 'I want to play weirdos' ". The Guardian . Retrieved 21 February 2018.
