“Power Raffle”, Guyana’s premiere television game show, awarded its first winner, young Jonnell Decunha of Soesdyke with a brand new entertainment system, yesterday.Sixteen-year-old Jonnell was presented with the grand prize by “Power Raffle” creators, Veronique Hollingsworth and Dr. Gordon John at the “Power Raffle” Georgetown Office.Veronique Hollingsworth presents Jonnell, left, with her prize.Jonnell won the prize during last night’s live “Power Draw” on NCN by responding correctly to the question “Which ethnic group does the Caribbean take its name from?” After Power Raffle host Onica Harrison informed Jonnell live on air that she was the winner,Cheap Liverpool FC Jersey, Decunha seemed ecstatic, stating, “I don’t believe this, I can’t wait to tell my family!”Speaking at the presentation ceremony today, Jonnell was elated, “I am so excited, I couldn’t sleep after the show last night – I really wasn’t expecting to win!”“Power Raffle”, Guyana’s premiere television game show, was officially launched recently at the Regency Hotel, Georgetown. The brainchild of overseas-based Guyanese, Veronique Hollingsworth and Dr. Gordon John, “Power Raffle” will be broadcasted on National Communications Network (NCN), and will involve viewers sending text messages in order to compete for daily prizes in a grand draw. Hosted by Onica Harrison, the game show will be presented in four segments from Monday to Friday.
